So you could try `j.ohnsmith@gmail.com` and `johnsmith+epic@gmail.com` and see if any of those work.

Unfortunately or fortunately gmail essentially ignores added or removed predomain dots. So Ro.borr@gmail.com is the same as Rob.orr@gmail.com.

I have gotten emails from gmail forgetting to pin in my middle initials with periods.
